Oral Surgeon Michael A. Ajayi, DDS

Dr. Ajayi was educated at the College of Medicine of the University of Lagos, Nigeria and graduated with a degree of Bachelor of Dental Surgery (B.D.S.). He later obtained a degree in Bachelor of Science in Dentistry (B.Sc.D) from the University of Toronto, Canada. He started his residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Toronto General Hospital, Toronto but transferred to Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, Michigan where he successfully completed the training and  became a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS)  in 1986.

Dr. Ajayi was a consultant Oral Surgeon at the King Khalid Hospital, Hail, Saudi Arabia for a few years before being appointed as Assistant Clinical Professor in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco in 1991. He later became full time Associate Clinical Professor at the University of pacific, Arthur Dugoni School of Dentistry, San Francisco and is presently part time Associate Clinical Professor in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery at the same institution.

Dr. Ajayi is married to Lanre Ajayi who is the West Contra Costa Unified School District, Early Learning Program Coordinator. They have three children and three grandchildren.

Dr. Ajayi enjoys international traveling and is an avid football, baseball, basketball fan. He enjoys running and his favorite foot race is the San Francisco Examiner Bay to Breakers. Recently, he has dabbled into Marathon races and has completed the Sacramento Marathon, the Napa Marathon, the Oakland Marathon and the San Francisco Marathon, He has the Los Angeles Marathon on his bucket list.
